Share a QR Code πŸ”’

After you create a visit, you need to share the QR code with your guest so they can show it to security at the gate.


How to Access the QR Code​

From the Visits Tab​

  1. Tap the Visits tab (bottom navigation)
  2. Find your guest's visit in the list
  3. Tap the visit to open details
  4. Scroll down to the "QR Code" section
  5. You'll see the unique QR code for this visit

Ways to Share the QR Code​

1. Show It on Your Phone (Quickest)​

  • Have your guest take a screenshot or photo of the QR code on your screen
  • They can show this photo to security at the gate
  • Works even without internet on their phone

2. Send a Screenshot​

  1. Take a screenshot of the QR code
  2. Send it via WhatsApp, email, or text message
  3. Your guest can keep it in their phone and show security
  4. Best for advance notice (send 1-2 hours before arrival)

3. Print the QR Code​

  1. From the QR code screen, print the page
  2. Give the printed code to your guest
  3. They can show the paper to security at the gate
  4. Useful for service providers or deliveries

4. Email & Forward​

  1. Take a screenshot
  2. Email it to your guest
  3. They can open it on their phone at the gate
  4. Works even with weak WiFi

Tips for Smooth Check-In​

βœ… Do:

  • Send early - Share QR at least 1-2 hours before arrival
  • Make it clear - Screenshot should show only the QR code
  • Keep it readable - Avoid blurry or darkened images
  • Have backup - Share it two ways (screenshot + message)
  • Stay available - Be home when guest arrives in case there are delays

❌ Don't:

  • Rotate or flip the QR code - It might not scan correctly
  • Edit or mark up the QR image
  • Send it at the last minute
  • Cover parts of the code with your fingers or watermarks

What Happens When Guest Arrives​

  1. Guest arrives at the gate with the QR code (on phone or paper)
  2. Security scans the QR code with their camera
  3. Security enters visit details:
    • Takes a photo of guest's ID
    • Takes a photo of vehicle license plate
    • Reviews and confirms check-in
  4. Status changes to "In" - Your guest is now checked in
  5. You get a notification (if enabled) that your guest has been checked in

Troubleshooting​

"Security can't scan the QR code"​

Solution:

  • Make sure the QR code is fully visible and not cut off
  • Increase brightness on your phone screen before showing security
  • Try a fresh screenshot instead of an old photo
  • Ask security to try scanning again (sometimes requires proper angle)

"I already shared it but need to share again"​

Solution:

  • Go back to Visits tab
  • Tap the same visit
  • Scroll to QR Code section
  • Take another screenshot and share it again

"I lost the QR code screenshot"​

Solution:

  • Go to the Visits tab anytime
  • Tap the visit
  • Get a new screenshot of the QR code
  • You can share it anytime before or after your guest arrives

"My guest lost the QR code"​

Solution:

  • Take another screenshot and send it again
  • Or, ask your guest to contact security at the gate directly
  • Or, ask them to use your Resident QR code (if you're home with them)
