Create a Visit πŸ”’

This guide is for Residents. Learn how to invite a guest, delivery person, or service provider to your home.

Before You Start​

  • Decide what type of visit you need (see Visit Types)
  • Know your guest's name
  • For Delivery visits, have the company name ready
  • For Frequent visits, decide how often they'll visit

Step-by-Step Instructions​

Step 1: Open the Explore Menu​

  1. From your Home screen, tap "Explore"
  2. You'll see the main menu with all app features

Step 2: Select Visit Type​

Tap the visit type that matches your guest:

  • Occasional - One-time guest visit
  • Delivery - Delivery or service company
  • Frequent - Regular visitor (nanny, cleaner, etc.)

Step 3: Enter Guest Information​

For Occasional & Frequent visits:

  1. Enter the guest's full name
  2. Tap "Next"

For Delivery visits:

  1. Enter the guest/company name (e.g., "Maria from XYZ Cleaning")
  2. Enter the company name (e.g., "XYZ Cleaning Service")
  3. Tap "Next"

For Frequent visits:

  1. Enter the guest's full name
  2. Select the visit frequency:
    • 1 week (visits weekly)
    • 2 weeks (visits every 2 weeks)
    • 1 month (visits monthly)
  3. Tap "Next"

Step 4: Review & Create​

  1. Review all the information you entered
  2. Verify the guest name and type are correct
  3. Tap "Create Visit"

Visit Created! πŸŽ‰β€‹

Your visit is now active and ready to use.

What happens next?​

  1. Your QR code is generated - This code is unique to this visit
  2. Share with your guest - Show them the QR code so they can get it to security
  3. Guest shows code at gate - Security will scan the QR code
  4. Security completes check-in - Photos and verification complete
  5. Visit status changes to "In" - Your guest is now in the community

Share the QR Code with Your Guest​

After creating the visit, the QR code is ready to share:

  • Show on your screen - Have your guest take a photo of the code on your phone
  • Send a photo - Take a screenshot and send it to your guest via WhatsApp, email, etc.
  • Print it - If you have time, print the QR code and give it to your guest

Best practice: Send the QR code to your guest 1-2 hours before they arrive so they're ready to show it at the gate.


Managing Your Visits​

After creating a visit, you can:

  • View details - Go to the Visits tab and tap the visit
  • See the QR code again - Tap the visit and scroll to the QR section
  • Cancel the visit - Tap the visit, then tap "Cancel Visit" if your guest isn't coming
  • Check in/out times - View when your guest entered and left

Troubleshooting​

"Visit Created" but guest can't get in​

  • Make sure the QR code is clear and not rotated
  • Have your guest hold their phone steady while security scans
  • Try creating a new visit if the code isn't scanning

Guest arrived but no visit was created​

  • Go to Explore β†’ Create a visit quickly (name, type, create)
  • Or ask your guest to use your Resident QR code from Settings

I need to change visit details​

Unfortunately, you can't edit a visit after creation. Instead:

  1. Cancel the current visit
  2. Create a new visit with the correct information
