Announcements Overview

Announcements is your community's messaging system. It allows the security team to share important updates, news, and notifications with all residents in real-time. Every announcement has a read-status tracking system so the security team can see who has received and read each message.

What are Announcements?​

Announcements are messages posted by the security team to communicate with residents about community events, policy changes, maintenance schedules, emergencies, or any other important information that needs immediate attention.

Who Can Do What?​

  • Create announcements with titles, descriptions, and priority levels
  • View all announcements they have created
  • Activate announcements to send them to residents
  • Track read status to see which residents have opened the announcement

Announcement Priority Levels​

Each announcement has a priority level that indicates its importance:

Announcement Status​

Announcements can be in two states:

StatusMeaning
ActiveThe announcement is live and residents can see it. Read status tracking is enabled.
InactiveThe announcement is a draft and not yet visible to residents.

How Announcements Work​

  1. Security creates a new announcement with title, description, and priority
  2. Announcement is initially inactive (draft mode)
  3. Security activates the announcement when ready to send
  4. Residents receive notification and can view the announcement
  5. Read status is tracked - marked as read when resident opens it
  6. Security can view who has read the announcement
